Our mission.P3 Consulting was created to help make this a better and safer world, especially for persons who are elderly, are undergoing medical procedures, or have physical disabilities. Our clients are architects, contractors, and developers of a wide variety of occupancy types, as well as operators of health care facilities. P3's core mission is to provide our clients with outstanding service in the area we know best: applying building and fire codes and standards to design and construction. In fact, this is almost all we do.
Our expertise is understanding the language and intent of accessibility standards, building codes, and fire safety codes, particularly as they relate to long-term care and health care facilities in Texas. Whether our clients are dealing with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards, Texas state licensing requirements for assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, the International Building Code (IBC), or the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS), we work to help architects, contractors, and building owners meet the requirements of even the most obscure code provisions. |
Our passion. We often tell our clients, “Construction is a messy business.” There are so many details to negotiate in design and construction, it’s impossible for the architect, engineer, contractor, and subcontractors to know and follow every provision of the vast array of codes they face. That’s where we come in. We identify code issues and anticipate potential problems early enough to avoid redesign and rework.
We’ve learned that to be really good at something, you have to do it all the time. We don’t design projects and we don’t build them. What we do is engage with code enforcers on dozens of projects a year, review plans and inspect construction sites every week, and field code-related questions daily. Our goals are simple: ensure that the buildings on which we consult are safe and accessible, while trying to save our clients more than we charge in fees by reducing rework and delays. |
